If you’re an early bird and you don’t fancy an energetic power walk by the beach (which is by the way amazing), and you are more in to people watching while you savour some delicious breakfast that’s not chia pudding or eggs Benedict. I got the perfect morning activity – breakfast in La Boqueria.

Barcelona’s emblematic modernist market La Boqueria has two staple stands that serves up traditional knife and fork breakfast. In the unique atmosphere El Quim de la Boqueria and Pinotxo Bar prepares; rich plates of the traditional Catalan dish Cap i Pota (tripe), tortillas a la minute, fuet sandwich, fresh squeezed juice and much more.

As you dig in to the Catalan and Spanish deliciousness you watch as the traders set up their stands and get prepared for another day at the market.

La Boqueria – La Rambla 91, 08002 Barcelona

Best Bomba in town – A nibble in Barceloneta

5 foodie experiences, Barcelona
How can mash potato, some minced meat, fried and topped with aioli and spicy tomato sauce be so darn good? Add a small ice cold cañita (beer) to that and will thank me later!

If you don’t believe me head over to traditional and genuine bar La Bombeta in the fishermen neighbourhood Barceloneta and try them for your self. They don’t speak much English, but you just need say; Dos bombas y dos cañitas, and the rest is smooth sailing.

**Good to know each serving brings two bombas.

Calle de la Maquinista, 3, 08003 Barcelona
Thursday to Tuesday 10.00h – 00.00h
Wednesday closed

I used to love having breakfast in the Boqueria after going out clubbing. It was almost always a bocadillo de tortilla con un carajillo de cognac.

  2. Sara says:

That sound like the best kind of breakfast to me 🙂
