Barcelona cocktail bars by the pros! This city has a lot of bars both awesome, great, fabulous, less great and a few bad ones too.

Barcelona cocktail bars by the pros!

First out with her Barcelona favourites is Marwa, founder of Food Tour company Wanderbeak

Blue Wave: For an escape during the day with fabulous views of the private yacht marina. Sunset is pretty spectacular here!

Address: Moll de la Barceloneta 01, 08003 Barcelona

Edition Hotel Rooftop: With 360 views over the city, great cocktails, friendly staff, this is one of my favourite rooftops. You can get sun or shade, all day and all year round. The humitas empanada is delicious!

Address: Av. de Francesc Cambó, 14, 08003 Barcelona

Sauvage: My favourite evening cocktail bar. The music is always on point and the bartenders are fun. It’s small and cosy but it’s definitely one of my favourite places.

Address: Passeig del Born, 13, 08003 Barcelona

Bartender Jordi Roig Bosch with more than 7 years in the business gives us his recommendations.

Marlow: A classic cocktail bar in the heart of Born with modern touches and avant garde technics.

Address: Carrer del Rec, 24, 08003 Barcelona

Old Fashioned: Draper bartenders and the cocktail bar itself is stylish.

Address: Carrer de Santa Teresa, 1, 08012 Barcelona

Two Schmuks: It’s Barcelona’s best underground-London-vibe cocktail bar.

Address: Carrer de Joaquín Costa, 52, 08001 Barcelona

Ben from Driftwood Journals favourite spots around town

Negroni: A true modern-day speakeasy, Negroni is an ultra-minimalist, almost spartan, space that appears to spring from nowhere as dusk departs. There is no menu, but the bartenders work out your personal tastes with a quick quiz. Needless to say, you simply must tip back a few Negronis here too!

Address: Carrer de Joaquín Costa, 46, 08001 Barcelona

Solange: Named after James Bond’s love interest in Casino Royale, Ian Fleming’s first-ever Bond novel, Solange epitomises the extravagant lifestyles so many of us dream of. From the cut of head bartender Miguel’s suit to the Tom Ford aftershave-scented menu, this sacred space is a prime example of what perfectionism looks like. Order a Vesper Martini – and make sure to dress for the occasion.

Address: Carrer d’Aribau, 143, 08036 Barcelona

TandemEntering this slender cocktail bar is like entering a different universe, or at least a different place in history. It’s classic in every sense and the bartenders are passionate about mixing up customised cocktails designed especially for you and your tastebuds. A must at any time of day or night.

Address: Carrer d’Aribau, 86, 08036 Barcelona

Boadas Bar: Tucked away just off Las Ramblas, Boadas was the first-ever cocktail bar to open in Barcelona and is still, in my humble opinion, the finest. Little has changed since it opened back in the Dirty Thirties, and the waste-coated bartenders still specialise in the classics of yesteryear. If you can’t make up your mind then just go for the cocktail of the day. Prepare to make lots of new amigos at the bar – it’s that sort of place!

Address: Carrer dels Tallers, 1, 08001 Barcelona

Sinzy from Cooking Nature shares her 3 top cocktail spots in Barcelona

Batuar Cotton House: Amazing location, an oasis of green behind one of the busiest streets in Bcn, Gran Via de Les Corts Catalanes. The cocktail and wine lists are very good. Many options and exquisite mixology of drinks.

Address: Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 670, 08010 Barcelona

Clubhaus – Jungle Room: Good for casual encountering and good vibes of funk to pop music. Fantastic classic and fusion cocktails and local wines and beers. They make one of the best old- fashioned cocktails in town 🙂

Address: Av. del Marquès de l’Argentera, 13, 08003 Barcelona

Rilke, Restaurant Bar:
A hidden gem inside a bourgeois house turned restaurant-bar in the middle of Eixample district. The cocktails are amazing with many surprises and scents.

Address: Carrer de Mallorca, 275, 08008 Barcelona

Isabelle Kliger a fellow Swede living the globetrotter life while writing about food & travel for Condé Nast, Soho House, Scandinavian Traveler, Afar to name a few!

Collage: Tucked away down one of the tiniest of all the tiny, narrow alleyways in Barcelona’s charming El Born district, Collage is the kind of place you’d miss if you didn’t know it was there. Once inside, head up to the mezzanine floor where the mismatched vintage furniture creates a cosy living-room vibe, making it the perfect spot to while away the hours over an excellent selection of cocktails – all lovingly prepared by a team of passionate, knowledgeable Italian mixologists.

Address: Carrer dels Counsellors, 4, 08003 Barcelona

Tuxedo: In an age when every cocktail bar calls itself a speakeasy, it’s rare to find one that lives up to the hype. So expertly hidden you need latitude and longitude coordinates to find it, Tuxedo doesn’t look like much from the outside. Getting in will require you to navigate the shady-looking entrance, ring the buzzer and explain your business to the doorman, before slipping through a hole in the bookcase and settling in for an evening of expertly mixed cocktails, snazzy bowties and high jinx. The extensive menu includes everything from tried and tested classics to signature favourites like the deceptively potent gin, vermouth and absinthe-based “Tuxedo”.

Salvatore, a cocktail loving Italian photographer based in Barcelona

Tirsa Bcn: In Tirsa you will not find a list of cocktails that surprises you with innovation, in fact there is no menu, but you will surely enjoy the best classics of Barcelona. A Daiquiri, a Singapore mixed to perfection without unnecessary decorations, in Tirsa there is history and history is respected.

Address: Carrer de Mallorca, 25, 08029 Barcelona

Ideal Bar: Inspired in terms of decoration to one speakeasy of the era of prohibition in Ideal Bar you will find a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where you can try cocktails of absolute quality that range from classics to more modern proposals that never lose sight of history. Let the staff advise you, they will guide you egregiously.

Address: Carrer d’Aribau, 89, 08036 Barcelona

Rob, runs the blog Homage to BCN were you can find all-Barcelona-related content.

Caribbean Club: Opened in the 70s by Josep Lluís Marruenda, M. Dolores Boadas’s husband, whose family ran the famous Boadas cocktail bar round the corner. An intimate place with a strong nautical theme. The wooden door out front has a little porthole in it.

Address: Carrer de Les Sitges, 5, 08001 Barcelona

Bartender Raiza with roots from Peru, now based in Barcelona shares one of her favourites in town.

14 de la Rosa: It’s a relatively new neighbourhood bar with cocktails very well achieved, minimalistic and tasty. They are one of the few cocktail bars that work with speciality coffee, their bread with tomato is delicious and the barmen are super nice.

Address: Carrer de Martínez de la Rosa, 14, 08012 Barcelona
