The Catalan Brunch on a unique location in Barcelona
Who doesn’t like a unique and secret location where the music, the ambience, the food and drinks are all on point?
I had one of those experiences at The Catalan Brunch the other weekend. I got the secret address sent to me the day before the event, I fastly googled it, thought to myself; never walked on that street, what can I have missed?
My thoughts spiralled, since I attended one of Rodolfo’s Let’s Drunch Barcelona event before, I knew this was going to be fabulous!
The Catalan Brunch on a unique location – Barcelona
Without giving away too many details of any kind, the location is an old espadrille factory located in the heart of Born, one of the oldest parts of Barcelona. The culinary space is fully renovated, nevertheless maintaining old charming details, which makes the locale singular and exclusive.
The dishes we savoured at The Catalan Brunch were based on local and authentic Catalan produce from no other than the premium brand Espinaler!
If Espinaler doesn’t ring a bell, well you will thank me later, because their products are A-mazing! They have an awesome selection of canned seafood, sauces, well basically anything you need for the perfect vermouth (and yes the vermouth were theirs as well).
I have a friend that use their vinegar based sauce for absolutely anything, not just fabulous canned cockles or crisps, yes Suzy I mean you 😉 If you get sponsored because of this post, I want half, ok!? 😉
Each dish came with a special twist (I totally love when the chefs think outside the box), I never thought of preparing razor clams that way, no more explanations given. Sorry!
We went through an array of nine dishes and nibbles, which were prepared before our eyes while we sipped our drinks and mingled to great tunes.
The recipes carefully designed around the goods and paired with vermouth from Espinaler, wine and cava from wine producer Torres. To finish the perfect afternoon, gin tonics made with gin from the brand GinRaw. And did I mention that it’s a free bar?!
The hours flew by and within no time our four hours with Rodolfo and the team were up. We were sad to leave (although I have a hunch I’ll be back rather sooner than later) our new acquaintances and the cosy space, we were all perfectly happy in our little bubble.
If you are local or visitor, solo flyer or a group this is a wonderful way to interact and socialize with new acquaintances, enjoy an original food experience with like-minded food lovers and to see another side of Barcelona.
