Hush Hush is a small recently opened café in the Born on the street Fonollar 4. The locale used to be a sad looking bar, but now when reopened by the new owners Mathilde and Agnès it has a totally different aspect!
Actually before they opened the doors I was hanging on the lock, asking the what they were going to do, when they were going to open, questions, questions so many questions (that is what happens when you live next door)!
Agnès told me that it was going to be a small café, without the intention of making noise on social media, to not make the place a hipster café or making a big fuss about their opening.
They want it to be a calm oasis, where their clients find out about Hush Hush by just strolling by or by friends.
The space is modern, walls in grey cement tones and with big white capital letters the name of the café written on the wall HUSH HUSH. To contrast the grey the owners added a splash of yellow.
Even though Hush Hush has a minimalistic interior design the place feels warm and cosy.
They have four tables on the charming square Sant Cugat that can be enjoyed all year, except when it´s pouring down, which is almost never in Barcelona.
The cuisine at the moment is minimalistic, they have a short list of tapas like; olives 3,50€, hummus, smoked sardines 7,50€ and artichokes 4€. If you in need of something more filling you can try one of their savoury sandwiches from 7,50€.
Their pastries come from the Australian pastry chef – The Cake Man Bakery, that´s a win-win for sure! Cheese cake 5,50€ or Brownie with ice cream 4,50€.
**In a near future they will start broaden their menu from the kitchen with more hot and cold dishes.
Hush Hush is the perfect place for a morning coffee, light lunch or a glass of wine in the afternoon!
