From the outside La Cuina de l´Uribou is discrete with dark wood, dark tinted glass and a golden boar piglet print. No name stated outside but if you know Japanese you know that Uribou means just that; boar piglet and that you arrived to the right place.

Once inside the locale, the dark wood from the outside continues as the main colour mixed with white and the decoration is minimalistic and simple.
The dining area is divided in two; the first part with natural light coming in from the street and you can see the chefs doing the sushi. The second dining area is a more tranquil room.

The owner of La Cuina de l´Uribou, Atsushi Takata is a Sushi master that before opening his own restaurant worked at famous restaurants; Tempura-Ya, Icho and Yashima in Barcelona.

Salomon Sashiviche

At La Cuina de l´Uribou they offer seasonal cuisine, using local products to bring the fresh dishes to their clients.  On our visit we tried a variety of dishes from the menu, Maguro tartar 12,50€/unit – raw tuna tartar, salmon Sashiviche 12.00€/unit – lime and onion marinated salmon, spicy tuna Maki 7,80€/plate and Kaisen don 17,50€/bowl – a Sashimi bowl with four types of fish, shrimp and roe on a bed of warm rice.

We also tried the special dish (not on the regular menu) “home made“ anchovies with semi-dried tomato 6€/dish – a balance between the salty and sweet, thumbs up! All the dishes were fresh and full of flavours.

For dessert we opted for a green tea Tiramisu 5€/unit and it was the perfect end to a relaxed Saturday lunch away from the city centre hustle.

La Cuina de l´Uribou keeps a low profile with an informal atmosphere, and has won the hearts of its clients with good food to a correct price.  Worth visiting!

We went on a Saturday lunch without a reservation and we were lucky to get a table, so I recommend to book your table in advance.
