Pizza joint Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha is the latest addition to the Venetian Colombo brother’s food portfolio, this time with they joined forces with ex owner of Cañete Jose Parrado.
The locale of Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha is located just a block from La Rambla on the quiet street Marques de Barberà 15 in Raval.
The interior of Pizza joint Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha has a industrial feel with street art on the walls, very cool and modern. For you guys that been to Bar Brutal and Xemei (also from the Colombo brothers), you might feel there are some similar vibes.
The restaurant is all about the pizzas.
However the do have some non-pizza stuff for starters like fried squid served with lime mayo and fried salvia leaves 10€ or steak tartar 12,50€
The pizzas at Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha are all made with slow fermented organic sourdough crust, which supposedly to be more digestible then normal pizza crust.
I have to say I did not end up in a pizza coma after dinner, so it might be some truth in it?
The toppings at the pizza joint goes from plain Margherita 8,50€ to pizza Brutal with mozzarella, burrata and scamorza cheese, smoked salmon and bottarga 19,50€.
On our visit we chewed on Parmigana 12,50€ and Puttanesca 9,50€, favorite? The Puttanesca, by the simple reason I love anchovies and capers, a perfect combo.
Would have loved to try the pizza Carbonara de truffa 18€, it sounded delicious; mozzarella, guanciale (Italian cured meat), egg, pecorino and truffle.
All the ingredients used to elaborate the pizzas are of high quality, which reflects in the flavours.
They serve organic wine and craft beer.
***Important to mention, the service at Frankie Gallo Cha Cha Cha, is very friendly and fast. A thing that can be hard to find in Barcelona.
It’s a good spot to visit with friends for a relaxed and fun dinner, they have special booths for groups.
