Robata – Sushi and grill, urban Japanese restaurant from the guys, Fabiola Lairet and Ricardo Figuera behind Monster Sushi.
This amazing locale can be found on the street Enrique Granados 55, right on the corner with Mallorca.
First of all the interior design at Robata is awesome, I fell hard. The locale is big and they divided it into various dining areas that can fit small and medium sized groups. The colours go in dark tones, wood and marble, the tableware is perfectly matching.
The way they used a different colour palette comparing with what we seen in the last years is refreshing and makes them stand out in the crowd of restaurants. It´s chic, cosy and very thought through in every detail.
I visited Robata – Sushi and grill for lunch, they don´t have a daily set menu so the final price tag can easily get hefty if you are hungry. On the menu we can find a mix of Japanese dishes with a western touch such as uramakis, tempura rolls and sashimi.
Not to forget Robatayaki grilled skewers and Robata grilled rice triangles, fish or meat that are dishes not served at Monster Sushi.
The dessert menu on the other hand has nothing of Japanese in them, here we can see dishes like cheese cake and carrot cake.
All the dishes are prepared with high quality ingredients, which show in the final result.
Robata is perfect for a cosy date night, a great night out with friends, a formal work lunch or just if you really like Japanese food with a subtle western touch.
They take reservations.
