Taverna Hofmann, Restaurant, Eixample

Less then a year ago the great chef Mey Hofmann opened the doors to Taverna Hofmann in Eixample Derecha. A new gem within the Hofmann group.

The dining area is medium size, with tables for two or four guests, as well they have one big square table where a group of 10 can be seated.

In the dining area as well you can find the charcoal grill where they prepare the meat and outside they have a small terrace that you can enjoy during the warmer months of the year.

On the menu we find modern Catalan cuisine, that’s is divided in to seven different categories, we wanted to try them all of course!

The waiter explained that the dishes were tapas size, very good for sharing. Upon the suggestion from the waiter, we decided to order all the dishes between the two of us.

While waiting for the first plate they served us homemade delicious Focaccia bread straight from the oven.

We started off with the House Taverna Croquettes and The Grilled Octopus with Yucca and Passion Fruit Gnocchi both of the dishes from the category To Share.

From there we moved on to the Olive salad with Lobster, Lime & Mint and Charcoal Grilled Artichokes with finely sliced Scallops & Vermut, these dishes from the category From The Market Garden.

From the category Chef´s Recommendations, we had the Twice Cooked Eggs, Grilled Foie Gras with Amaretto Sauce. We wanted to try the Grilled Pork Shoulder, but at this point, we were perfectly satisfied and with just enough space left for the dessert!

We tried the Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream, which was a perfect end to a perfect dinner!

All the plates were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. They use fresh quality products, which you can taste in every dish. The service was very attentive and professional.

We will for sure be back to try out the rest of the menu!

We visited the restaurant midweek and it was fully booked, so I recommend to book your table in advance, to not get turned down at the door.
